Ayden William Fenberg
_____________
NICKNAME (A-frame in high school, for the wife beater he wore)
BIRTHDAY September 16th
AGE 24
GENDER Male
SEXUALITY Herero flexible? (Has no real interest in sexual relationships)
GIFT None (except maybe vengeance)
LOOKS Aiden has brown hair, dark red eyes with small green flecks from the way they looked before. His ears are mangled where he's torn at them, and his face is covered with scars and lines from his own fingernails. His lower lip is cleft near the corner, which makes drinking difficult for him His short brown hair is missing a few patches where he has pulled it out. His skin is pale from not seeing the sun very much, and his body is very skinny from malnutrition, though it does have some muscle to it, especially in the arms. A small tribal spiral tattoo that was once his high-school pride is now no more than a few splotches of ink from where he has clawed it off.
He's smallish, about 5'7", and only ways 150lbs. His jaw is square and firm, and he rarely, if ever, smiles.
likes: Dogs, Fresh water, Overcast days without rain, Creating weapons out of scrap, Fighting back
dislikes: Gifted people, Weakness, People who cry, Animal cruelty, Rain
personality:
Ayden has been hardened over the years after the plague. Very little actually remains of the rebellious, intelligent young man that he used to be. Where there was once compassion for his fellow man, he is now calloused and withdrawn. When approached, he doesn't make eye contact or speak unless spoken to. He gets along well with older people he meets, but uses them more as sources of information than friends or companions. He still feels great compassion for dogs, however, even though they are one of the rare sources of meat found topside on the streets. But most of all, he has become a man possessed and driven by revenge.
Over the years, Ayden has developed a series of idiosyncrasies that, while annoying, are all based in usefulness. He likes to chew on the clubs that he creates from bats or table legs, and while it is a nervous habit, it also softens to wood for shaping, design, or inlaying bits of scrap metal. He also has a habit of pulling out small bits of his hair, a leftover side effect from when he hallucinated and tried to scrape his skin off.
When it comes to children, Ayden is absurdly uncomfortable. The memory of his younger brother haunts him, making him both want to reach out to those younger than him, as well as push them away to avoid heartache. His crude language and disfigured appearance also scares them away, so it's not regularly a problem.
If an angry old man and a scared little child could become one, they would be Ayden.
history:
At least Ayden grew up in suburbia with his parents and his younger brother, comfortably and without any major hardship. He was the traditional rebellious teen, getting piercing and tattoos, wearing clothing that his parents did not approve of. He did well in school, but wasn't athletic in high school, and thus tended to be paler and skinnier than other popular guys. He was just looking at possible colleges when the plague started to spread.
He lived in a small port town in Arkansas, so the plague spread through the community like wildfire. Soon, his parents had both passed away, leaving Ayden and his younger brother, Jim, on the street. Before much time had passed, the two of them caught it as well. Ayden began to hallucinate, believing that his blood had turned to lava and would kill him if he did not get it out. He began to scratch away the skin of his face and arms, leaving him deformed to this day. When the fever and hallucinations passed, Ayden awoke to find himself soaked in blood and his younger brother dead on the sidewalk beside him.
Aiden hid wherever he could, often turning to the sewers where there was more privacy. Since he already had caught the plague, the water waste below the streets did not effect him much. When he emerged, he began to notice others, completely untouched by the plague. Disturbingly enough, they seemed to have supernatural powers! Surely, they were to blame for all of this, they were the cause of the death of his parents and his younger brother.
Ayden began to travel, seeking out others like him in the sewers and in the shadows of the topside world. Soon, he found he was not alone and vowed to do away with these "things" that had robbed him of the life he loved so well.
