The Bunker was originally home to 150 civilians and government officials of different races and ages in an equal amount of each gender. The 150 were hand picked by the government and placed in the Bunker only mere days after the confirmed leak. The moment the 150th person walked in the Bunker was put on lockdown.
The residents main priority is to survive. There are only 87 of the original residents that have survived the ten years in the Bunker. The other 63 had either left on their own free will or were killed by Berserkers or Gifted on an exhibition outside.
The Bunker is an underground facility positioned near an underground lake, so they have untainted water. The compound is air tight, fortified, and completely sterilized. Before anyone can re-enter the compound they must be sterilized, their clothing incinerated, and have their blood and saliva tested first. The whole process can take an hour.
In the compound the residents are educated on everything from farming to advanced neuroscience via virtual teaching files the government had prepared in advance. The Bunker host a mother computer with files on anything and everything, it was the U.S.'s hope that the knowledge they had amassed over the years would not be lost in an apocalyptic scenario.
All residents are trained in a mixture of combat skills from the moment martial arts to boxing to firearm training. While the world above them slowly descended into hell the Bunker thrived while gradually cutting communication with the outside world. So when the last government fell and the world collapsed into anarchy the Bunker continued life as per usual.
