APPEARANCE Faye is a slight young woman. She stands at five feet, three inches tall, several inches under the average for women. Beyond her height, though, she is quite petite. Her bone structure is small, and she has very little excess fat. She is in good shape, lean, with some muscle, but she still looks almost delicate. Only her ample curves keep her from looking as if a strong gust of wind could knock her on her ass. Her skin is naturally a rich tan color, coming from the Native American on her mother's side, and is smooth to the touch.
Matching her body structure, Faye's face is also rather delicate in appearance. Or at least, it would be naturally. Her face is ovalish, with a soft square jaw and high set cheekbones. She has wide, large eyes, with thick black lashes framing them. The irises around her pupils are a very pale green, and are rather noticeable against her tanned skin. Her lips are plump, and tinged pink. Faye's hair is black in color, and falls to her mid-back in curly ringlets.
Faye's many piercing make it difficult for some to think 'delicate' when they look at her. There are two rings in the left side of her lower lip. In her nose is a simple silver stud. Her ears are pierced from the lobe to the cartilage, and there is an industrial in her right ear. She also has her belly button pierced. Wrapped around her upper left arm and trailing onto her shoulder is a tattoo of a hissing snake, and on her right shoulder blade is a wolf howling at the moon.
likes: Tattoos, chocolate, Jack and Coke, being around people, reptiles
dislikes: Liars, the color pink, the smell of bleach, sand, horses
personality:
The best way to describe Faye is angry. Her anger issues started at a very young age, when her father died and Faye couldn't understand why he would leave her. She then had her mother to be angry with, when she remarried. Since then, her go to emotion is anger. Whenever she feels something unwanted, such as sadness, or when she doesn't understand something, she gets mad. She picks fights, yells, throws punches, the works. And, though she's mostly mastered her gift, if she gets too angry, like she did when her son died, things bloe up or catch fire.
Despite this, Faye is actually a very laid back person. She likes to be around people, to have fun and party. As long as she's having fun or doing what she wants, there isn't much to get upset about, and nothing bothers her. It's only when something hard to deal with comes up that she gets mad. Before the plague, she would drink, smoke a little, she was the life of the party. Because of the devastation the plague caused, she's had to grow up a little. There aren't parties anymore. Everything is about survival. But, at heart, she's still the same fun loving person she's always been, she just doesn't get to show that side of herself much anymore.
Faye is also quite bold, in both her actions and her words. She says what she thinks, without worrying about offending people or saying the wrong thing. She's happy with the person she is, even if other people aren't, so she never feels the need to hide anything or keep secrets. She does what she wants, when she wants to. For the most part, she isn't scared of much. She'll do things other people might not, and have a blast doing it. Being immune to the plague has only added to this side of her, because she feels invincible.
history:
Faye grew up in a large family. She was the firstborn to Carys and Daryn Matthews, and she was a handful. She was loud and hyper. When she started preschool, the couple decided they could handle more children, and the twins Tarryn and Daryn Jr. were born, followed by Nerys. As the eldest who was in school, Faye was mostly left to her own devices. Her parents were busy with work and the younger children, and Faye wasn't yet old enough to help out.
Two years after Nerys' birth, when Faye was 7, their father died in a tragic car crash. Faye was devastated. She was a lot closer to her father than to her mother. Actually, she was closer to her father than any other member of her family. A couple years later, her mother remarried a man named Alan. The first time Faye realized she was different was at the wedding. She hated Alan, and when her mom said "I do", the front window of the church exploded, and Faye just knew she'd done it.
It was at this point that Faye and her mother really started bashing heads. They fought all the time, about the silliest things. Her relationship with her siblings wasn't much better, either. Faye kept to herself, trying to figure out what the hell was going on with her. If she focused, or got really mad, things would explode or catch fire, and she had to learn to control it so she didn't burn down the house.
Carys and her new husband Alan had three children together, and they all got along fine with Carys' first children, except Faye. In high school, Faye started hanging out with an iffy crowd. She started skipping school, and sneaking out of the house late at night to party. Because of all the fighting that happened when she was around, she stayed out of the house as much as possibly. The plague hit when Bronwyn was fifteen, but she never paid it any attention, thinking it wouldn't affect her, until her little sister Nerys died. She already had one foot out the door, and the death was the push she needed to leave for good. She dropped out of school and never looked back.
Faye got a job as a waitress in a remote town far from home. There, she met Jason, a bartender at the restaurant. They were never really a couple, but they were close friends, with added benefits. Faye found out she was pregnant about three months after they met, and nine months later baby Wyatt was born. The new parents moved in together, but their relationship didn't change much. They were still mostly just friends who sleep together and had a kid. The fought frequently, but despite that they were happy. Their life worked for them.
The happiness didn't last very long. The plague eventually found it's way to the little town, and baby Wyatt was no match for it. He got sick and died quickly. Jason and Faye didn't last very long after that. Faye was devastated, they both were, and the only way she knew how to deal with it was to get angry. They fought more and more, until there wasn't anything left to fight about, and they went their separate ways.
It's been four years since then, and Faye has no idea if Jason, or any of her family, is still alive. The world is completely different, and Faye had to grow up a little. Life is no longer about having fun, it's about surviving. She's realized that her gift keeps her safe from the plague, but there are other dangers, like finding food. She squats in an abandoned apartment building that she has made her own.
