Colton smiled, "I probably could do a backflip but that only because of my gift." He said thinking about when he was younger and before the plague had hit. "Well I lived in new jersey for most of my life, in high school I was the school jock played football, lacrosse, and then basketball. I did parkour with my friend but my parent hated me that wanted me to be like my older brother get all A's and that kind of stuff. So at 16 I'm moved out to here and stop going to school and owned a auto motive shop with a old friend. And well that about it I guess nothing huge." Colton said shrugging his shoulders.

Apollo smiled, hearing that he worked at an automotive shop. "I still want to work on motorcycles, but you can't really ride around on any sort of vehicle now without getting shot at or run after by berserkers." She stated. Apollo pulled her knees under her, then laid on her stomach on the sand. Yes, the sand was getting everywhere, but it was nothing she needed to worry about. With one flick of her wrist, she could remove every grain of sand from her body. "So, what's this gift you have?" She questioned, looking up at him.

Colton thought for a moment of all the places he has been. "Well their is on place they aren't ever and that well here the beach." Colton said, you could never find one walking around here and if you did it was because they were lost. Nobody really came to the beach because it had some dead bodies the water was gross and everything thought if they went in it the would get sick again or turn into a gifted. "Plus I wouldn't mind finding a nice motorcycle and fixing up even if we can't ride it." Colton said thinking about the last time he actual got to work on automobile.
"My gift well I'm kind a shape shifter, but I only shape shift into one thing." Colton said with a grin he watched her lay on her stomach then looked away. "So what about you what is you gift." Colton asked as he played with some of the sand with his fingers.

"That's really cool. I've never met a shape shifter" she smiled, laying her hands on the sand in front of her. "My gift?" She repeated his question, watching as he was playing with some sand. "I can do this" she pointed in front of Colton at the sand.
The sand rippled, and began to swirl. The grains of sand began to stack on top of itself, becoming a small pillar. The pillar shifted into a small statue of an Empire State Building. "And I can do much more" she smiled, looking up at Colton, awaiting his reaction.

Colton laughed "Well it not really that cool just the powers other wise it like being a ugly lizard." Colton said looking over at her as he watch her. Looking at her gift he was pretty impressed, his gift was pretty cool but he couldn't do anything but shape shift and a couple stuff when he was a Kanima. But she was able to control sand into what it seemed like anything thing she though of. "Well that awesome better then mind." He said with a grin.

She grinned, "I can also dissolve anything I touch into sand. Along with morphing parts of my body with the sand." She stated, now laying her head down on the sand. The sun was almost completely below the horizon, it's beautiful oranges and purples looked haunting on the deep blue water. "So beautiful" she stated, watching the sun's rays dance across the sky. Apollo brushed some of her blonde hair behind her ears. "Do you ever blame that scientist for releasing this virus?" She blurted out. Maybe she could actually open up to this boy, he seemed really accepting.

Colton looked at her and smiled. He looked over to the color when she started talking about them. "It is, its been a while sense I have stopped what im doing to just relax and watch a sun set. I guess I should do it more often." He said still looking out to the sun.
Colton looked down when she talked about the releasing of the virus. "I did once before when it first came out, I mean who didn't." Colton said not looking at her. "But then I got to thinking about it and I guess they were just doing their jobs, I'm sure if it hadn't happened when it did, what would have stop someone else from do it and make it happen later in life. You know what I mean. "Colton said looking at her then cracking his neck which was stiff and hurt a little.

She nodded "yes, I need to sit back and stop running more also." Apollo pulled her legs up, crossing them at the ankles. "I used to blame uncle Magnus..." She sighed, but then clamped her mouth shut, knowing she said too much too soon. She picked her head up, and looked at Colton, hoping his reaction wouldn't be one of the bad ones. Once, a boy that could manipulate plant life around him made plants wrap around her throat, nearly choking her to death. The only way she was able to save herself was to turn into a pile of sand, and drifted away on a gust of wind. The boy with the plants only attacked her because he realized she was a Diorio, and that he was searching for her sister, the one many referred to as the angel of death. But he just lost it. Apollo shook her head, hoping to get the tightness in her throat to fade away.

Colton smiled and nodded his head as he sat up a bit and stretched his leg out like any guy would he just about touched her when he pulled his legs together to were one leg was laid out and the other bent.
Once she said it was her uncle Colton kinda froze up a bit. He wasn't sure what he wanted to say but he knew one thing he didn't want to say the wrong thing and make her feel bad. He scratched the back of his neck and cleared his throat a bit. "Well.. um." Colton said trying to figure out the words he wanted to say. "I'm not mad at you." He said wanting her to know that just so she wasn't freaking out in the inside. "I mean I really can't be, It was like your the one who decide to make it, plus your just like me which meant you could have died if you didn't become a gifted." Colton said looking over at her. "You know what it not a big deal trust me, I know how family is." He said thinking about how crazy his parent and brother was about school, being smart. perfect, never having fun, it just wasn't him.

Nervous, Apollo shifted her position to sitting down. Even though Colton seemed to be trying to comfort her on something she didn't do, the tightness in her throat grew greater. It was almost like that feeling before someone was about to cry. Her bottom lip quivered, and her nose turned slightly red. She remembered her family again. Her uncle, Magnus, was the first to die of the Plague. Her father, Latimer, died of a coughing fit in their own kitchen. Athena never got sick though. But Apollo suffered many migraines and sleepless nights due to her horrible fevers. Somehow the Plague triggered her powers. She had no idea why. One night, she just turned to a pile of sand in the middle of the doorway on a windy day. She unwillingly left her sister, the winds carrying her far away. She wasn't able to pull herself back together until three days later, when she was blown away into New Jersey.
A tear rolled down her cheek, feeling the pain she had hidden away for so many years. Apollo was never one to share her pain, she would always bottle it up, and just lock it away.

Colton watched her, for some reason it was like she wasn't fully believing him. Colton looked down at the ground, he had nothing to be mad for he wasn't sure if his parent were dead or not. He was never close to anyone so people dying didn't hurt down deep. Colton looked up for a moment. "Hurt down deep." He though to himself, maybe it hurt her. He didn't know her that well but if she was searching for her sister family meant a lot to her. "Hey I don't want you to think I'm lying because I'm not maybe if you asked me when this first started I might." He said finally looking at her fully. He had a small smile on his face which faded again when he saw the tear. Colton was confuse was it something he said to her. He turned toward her facing closely beside her. Colton moved his hand slowly to her cheek wiping away the tear. "What wrong." Colton asked looking into her eyes the first time. "If you don't want to talk about it, it find to we can talk about something else or find something to do to get your mind off stuff." Colton said trying to give her options just so she didn't feel like she had to talk.

Apollo sniffed, and a soft smile flickered across her lips when he touched her cheek, wiping away her tear. She bit her lip for a moment, then looked up at Colton. "It's just that all of this pain, everyone's pain through-out the whole world, was all caused because of my family. Nobody else's" she sighed.
She remembered some of her fathers last words, and the name Jason stood out to her. She didn't know if this Jason had anything to do with the plague, but the name had always stayed with her.
Apollo sighed again, rubbing her nose with the back of her hand "do you want to go do something different?" She asked, all of this sadness getting annoying to her. The sun had finally completely dipped below the horizon, the sky fading to black now. "We shouldn't be out at night anyways" she stated. Night time was when most of the Berserkers came out from their homes. It wasn't like they had turned nocturnal, but Apollo had found out they chose night time because they believed it gave them a bit of an advantage over the gifted. Which it didn't really. But the numbers of berserkers that revealed themselves could be dangerous to any gifted.

Colton though for a moment. "So it wasn't your choice, everyone going through pain is normal sure maybe not like this but some people need to realize that and learn to get over it and stop holding it against people." Colton said then taking in a breath. He looked down and rubbed his face and then fixed his hair now that it was dry.
Colton though for a moment what to do, then he though back to what they have talked about. A huge smile came onto his face. "I have an idea but I want to make it a surprise." Colton said getting out of the sand and dusting if off his pants. He held out his hands to pull her up. "Trust me it will bring a smile to your face and it not that far away." He said.

Apollo watched as Colton stood up, and nodded at his words. She placed her hands in his, and pulled herself up. She put her hands at her sides, then looked back down at her boots that lay in the sand. She hovered one of her hands over the openings of her boots, and snapped her fingers. In that moment all of the sand inside boots swirled up to her hand, and wrapped around her fingers. She flicked her wrist away from the shoes, and the sand threw itself away from her. "Let's go then" she smiled, looking up at Colton.

Colton watched as she did her gift. He was pretty amazed but what she was able to do. "Alright I have to say that was pretty cool." Colton said smiling. As they headed down the street Colton looked at all the house he had already been through but their was one particular house on his mind. Colton looked left and right when he stopped. "Alright we are here." Colton said he grabbed her hand and pulled her thought the house door. He moved through the living room into the kitchen and then to the closed door. But before going into the room Colton looked at her. "Alright closed you eyes if you don't mind." He said with a grin.
