Athena growled, seeing that the two humans seemed to be making their way for the sewers. She pulled her arm back, and threw the feathers with all of her strength, aiming for the metal cap to the entrance of the sewers. All three of the feathers burried themselves deep into the metal slab, the sunlight that reflected off the gold of the feathers could be blinding if one looked at the wrong moment. "Ugh! They got away!" She shouted, stopping a few feet away from the manhole. Throwing down the piece of wood, it shattered against the cement. Splinters and chunks of wood spewed everywhere, but Athena was high enough in the air for the wood not to embed itself into her bare feet. She narrowed her eyes, and chewed on her lip angrily. She sighed, attempting to calm herself down.

Ayden gritted his teeth. The gifted were perusing them, just as he had feared they might. The two blow-eyes were close on their heels alright, and one looked to be some sort of giant reptile. Great, dinosaurs were back in town, exactly what this world needed.
The girl, to her credit, leapt down into the sewer like she was skydiving. No attempt at preventing the fall, just right down into the musty darkness. Good, that gave him time. He was about to follow then the lizard thing made a leap. It sailed past him, missing his face by inches, and sending his long tail down into the darkness. Crap, if that had hit the girl...
No time to think, he told himself. Get down there. Get inside. Then think.
He dove into the manhole, hauling the top down behind him with a definitive clang. Small spikes came through the metal to the left of his hand, like shards of glass but thinner. Ayden didn't even want to guess what those were.
He let his feet leave the top rung of the ladder up and dropped safely down into the darkness. His eyes adjusted to the dull torchlight that the other's like him were maintaining and focused on his new ally. She didn't look bloodied or hurt, but it was hard to tell with that suit on. Others of his group were already approaching, curious at the newecomer, and notably frightened by the commotion outside. They looked downright terrified, to be honest. Ayden thanked whatever powers there were that the two glow-eyes hadn't followed him down. These people had been in no state to back him up had he needed it. He was lucky this bad judgement call hadn't resulted in any deaths.
"Hey, you ok?" Ayden panted out to the girl, trying to stop the pounding in his chest. "Some run in up there, should be a few hours before they clear out."
Frank, one of the older members of the group approached the pair. He had a club in one hand, better made than Ayden's, and he looked none to pleased about the new arrival.
"Ayden, what the hell is this?" He demanded. Ayden just groaned.
"I'll explain in a damn minute Frank, just let us breathe alright?"

Vivian shuttered behind the cover of trees and overgrown shrubbery. The shots still rattled in her head. Peering out from behind she could see two more entities running towards the street near where she had left her car. They looked different from the other two. It was obvious that the first people she saw were gifted based on their features such as wings and scales. These two, they almost looked human. That wasn't a fair comparison, Vivian too looked human.
She got up from the ground and stepped onto the street, her shoes clicked on the pavement. It was cracked and dusty and filled with weeds. Trying to be careful as possible not to make a sound, she made her way back to the house she took shelter in. The houses could have been nice, if someone painted them that is. Maybe she would use her abilities to make the neighborhood nice again, if she decided to stay.
As she was walking, Vivian noticed the two gifted people from her first encounter. They, seemed to be chasing the humans. She didn't wan't to become a part of anything, but she followed them.

Maris perked up when Ayden slammed the grated closed. Safe?
Maris holstered her gun clicking the safety back on, might as well show she wasn't aggressive towards the people here. Next she pulled her goggles off her face and down so they hung around her neck like a necklace. With her hood down, hair freed, and eyes visible she looked more like a young woman and yes like an impersonalized being. Her eyes went wide, not from fear but in attempt to see in the dimness. She didn't feel as terrified to be underground as she thought she would be. Truthfully she was used to being a miles underground and the pressure of the earth above here was a welcome weight. Though she was used to the searing bright white of the walls, lights, and furniture of the Bunker.
Maris took a dragging breath in, slowly, in attempt to drastically slow her heart rate. Like a bullet hitting a wall, she wanted to be calm immediately, refusing to show any weakness in front of these people. She stood straight even though her knees were in searing pain, the force of the wall was harder on her joints than she'd like to admit. She popped a hip and rested a hand on it, trying to seem as unphased by anything.
"I'm fine, I can't stay for hours. She told Ayden choosing to ignore the other ones, Frank she believed, aggression towards her. "Is there anyway you can led me out a different way? Maybe somewhere towards the north side of town." Maris suggested her voice slightly muffled by her air filter mask. She didn't want to be here much longer than she needed, and from the looks she was getting she wasn't wanted her for to long either.

Colton looked at the girl see seemed to be pretty angry that they had gotten away, when she tossed the thing on the ground Colton took a couple steps backwards and looked down at the ground. "It not that big of a deal, it not like they hurt me or you." Colton said looking at her trying to get her calmed down. "I have a feeling that they won't be coming up any time soon so I should probably get back to what I was doing." Colton said.
He looked at the girl and stared at the wings for a while. For some reason he felt like he knew who she was but he didn't. Maybe he had just seen her before and didn't remember. "I'm Colton by the way, your wings are pretty awesome." He said tilting his head looking at them.
He looked back down at the sewer pipes, it was pretty gross down their and he didn't understand how some people could live like that. Their wasn't any point of trying to go down their and find them, even if he did go down that it would be hard to survive even with the healing ability he had.

Athena's deep red eyes turned to the boy who spoke to her. "I don't care! She shot at me, which meant she wanted a fight, so I gave it to her!" she spat, her lip curling slightly in disgust. Athena did hate fighting, but once someone made a move to hurt her, all caution and fear was thrown to the wind. She did seem to have a bit of a split personality. One side was the reserved, survival based Athena, and the other was the one who would rip someone throat from their neck without any hesitation or conscience.
"And they're not awesome, lizard boy. I've killed many people with these damned wings." she sneered, turning her body to walk away. But then she saw a woman who seemed to be following them. Who was that? It couldn't be Apollo, her hair was too brown. "Who's there?" she shouted, readying herself to attack again, her leg muscles tensing.

Listening in on their conversation, Vivian could make out that the two gifted ones apparently did something to anger the humans. She also heard something about the sewers but couldn't quite decipher exactly what they were saying. Maybe the humans were down there. Vivian didn't notice the open sewer cover when she left behind the car, but now that wasn't important. Right now, what was important was her hiding spot behind the pile of wood.
Unfortunately, Vivian wasn't concealed enough. The girl with the wings turned and noticed her. Maybe she could get away. No, the winged girl called out her name and now she had to reveal herself to the two. Vivian stood up, hands raised and slowly walked to their position at first not saying anything. The girls stance seemed threatening, and looked as though she was about to attack. If she had to, Vivian could either make it so that there were multiple of her or have the spirits help her. She walked closer to them. This was the first time Vivian could actually get a good look at the two. They were actually fairly attractive. Maybe the apocalypse hadn't ruined everything. She looked at the girl straight in the eye and said one word, "Hello."

Colton took a step back and rubbed his neck. "Well... your right." Colton said just trying to side with her and not cause anymore problems. Colton wanted to say that the first shot was on accident and he knew that because he had watched them from the top of the house but then he would be taking a humans side.
"Lizard boy." Colton mumbled and raised a eye brow. "Well that's a little rude but not the worst thing I have been called, and I'm not a lizard." Colton said to himself. "I was just trying to be nice but I think I leave know." He said to her, he was ready to walked away from her when she had spotted someone spying on them. Colton looked at the person and then the girl with wing.

"Hello yourself. Who are you?" Athena snapped at the woman, looking her over. She looked normal enough, but now-a-days you could never know what a persons gift was. Athena should've probably tried to reign in her anger and attitude, but now was probably the best time to intimidate people. She spread out her wings slightly, like a cat puffing up its tail, to make herself seem bigger than she really was. Her toes rubbed against the concrete, the awkwardness of standing not going away.

Clearly Ms. Angel here wasn't one for first introductions. She could feel the anger in her voice. However, if Vivian were being followed as well, she would have snapped just the same. The girl looked scared, but at the same time threatening. She wasn't exactly scary though. What was the worst she could do, make a gentle breeze? The boy looked like he could be a threat though. She would have to be careful. If she had to, she would be able to run and conceal herself fairly easily. It looked like she was wearing high heels, but that was just a trick, in actuality she had sneakers on.
Vivian began talking, "Calm down, I'm not going to kill you," she said relaxed as possible. Having no idea how the other two would react, she took notice of her surroundings being careful not to move her eyes too much so that she could maintain a visual hold on the other two gifteds. Remembering Ms. Angel had asked her who she was, Vivian looked at her, "Vivian by the way, Vivian Hawes," she said.

She rolled her eyes "and I'm Athena," not bothering in giving her last name, right now that would be a bad thing to do. Two angered gifteds after her wouldn't be something she wanted to get in the middle of. Gnawing on her lip, she attempted to calm down a bit, the gold in her wings fading away. Her eyes slowly faded back to their natural gold. "Do you need something?" She questioned, now somewhat kindly. Athena's wings fell onto her back now, not trying to intimidate anyone anymore.

Ayden eyed the woman as she adjusted her gear. She was, in face, female as he'd suspected, and seemed utterly untouched by the plague from what little he could tell. He could feel the eyes of women, children, other men on them. Sure, he'd brought back survivors of the plagues ravages before, but never one so wholly uninfected. Jealousy could sometimes breed violence in this little community. It wasn't safe to stay here much longer.
Frank looked seriously pissed about it. He'd wanted food, supplies Ayden knew. He wasn't looking for another mouth to feed. But he seemed to relax perceptibly as she made it perfectly clear that she wasn't staying. he snorted.
"Alright whatever Ayden. If she eats, it'd from your portion," he muttered. "Sorry for the cold welcome miss, enjoy your stay." With that, he gave a fake, mocking little bow to the lady then turned and walked back into the darkness.
Ayden again turned back to the woman. She certainly looked uncomfortable, but more than that he wondered how long she could stay uninfected down here. She was absolutely right, she couldn't possibly stay for more than a few hours. He nodded in answer to her question.
"Yeah, the system leads out to the north, towards the bay. It's blocked off part way down though, a little cave in, so we don't get much sea air. We can exit towards first street, if that works for you." He gestured with a tilt of his head to a small, very dark side tunnel. "This way, if you're up for it."

Vivian turned around and studied her nails. "I don't need anything from you," she said to Athena. The girl's name didn't quite suit her, perhaps she could go by angel. She did have the wings to match. Pausing a moment, she wondered if she did in fact need anything. There was food, she knew how to purify water, anything else she needed was probably in the house she adopted. Regardless, if she did need anything, she wasn't going to admit it.
Angel still looked quite angry. Vivian needed an excuse as to why she was 'following' them. It has been a while since she had seen any other gifteds. Perhaps she could use something with that. "Anyway," she said "it was obvious that you two aren't regular humans. I was simply curious." Not her best work, but it had been a while since she actually had to talk to anybody.

Colton looked at both of the girls talk, he was quite sure what to say if or if he wanted to say anything at all. He listen to the girl with brown hair explain why she had been following us, for some reason Colton had a hard time believing she was telling the truth. Colton looked over at then her, "So I guessing this means your not a human either and your like us." He said looking at her, you couldn't tell if she was gifted or not but if she wasn't she wouldn't be talking to two gifted, that would just be trouble.
Colton moved in close to Athena, "Athena have we met before?" Colton asked, he knew he had heard her name before and the wings for some reason he felt like he had seen them or heard of them. Colton wasn't able to name where he had heard if from, maybe it was because it had been a while.

Maria nodded when he told her there was a way out. Good. perhaps she could use this opportunity to get some intel on the sewers layout. The Bunker had little to no information on the sewer. Other than the original plans from Before, they didn't know where there were cave ins, new tunnels, or even what parts of the sewer system the berserkers frequented. She kept easy pace with Ayden as he led her away from the less than friendly on lookers.
"Why do you live down here?" She asked skirting a suspicious looking puddle. "It's so dank, and wet......and cold." She complained, surprising even herself. She was one to complain, but this trait finally showing its head probably had something to do with how uncomfortable she was with her surroundings. She was going to get sick and die if she stayed down here Anglo get. She needed out now.
"This is the quickest route right?" She asked for probably the second time as she caved and put her breathing apparatus back over her mouth. Even the air was scaring her.
